Meet the team – Account Manager, David Pepper

Welcome to our ‘meet the team’ series, in which we speak to Sports Booker employees to find out more about their role and what it’s like to work for Sports Booker.

This week features the newest member of the team: Account manager, David Pepper.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m 25, born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent and I have one older sister. I enjoy most sports, but football is the one that I take most interest in. I watch it and read up on it all the time. I’m a Manchester United fan, although the rest of my family support Stoke!

What was your first job?

My first job was a Christmas temp job at the age of 16, working as a sales assistant at TK Maxx. It was my first experience of providing good customer service, which has served me well for all future jobs I’ve had since.

What is a typical day like for you?

A typical day for me varies quite vastly from one week to the next. On some days I am helping new businesses with their system set up on training days throughout the UK or even overseas. On other days I am helping existing clients with support questions or general use of their system. I also help the sales department and contribute towards the on-boarding process of new clients, so a typical day can include just one or all the above.

What’s it like working for Sports Booker?

Working for Sports Booker allows me to go out and meet a diverse range of people which I enjoy. Our clients are based all over the country so I get to visit new places and see things I wouldn’t typically see. I also work with a supportive team which always makes work easier.

How do you relax after a hard day’s work?

I relax by going to the gym – it helps to tire me out so I can get a good sleep at night. I also like to see my friends in the evening and have a catch up over food.

What’s the best advice you have been given?

“Do something each day that scares you, you will grow”. A friend once said this to me several years ago and I found it useful ever since. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone every day is always something that will help you in future as a person.
